Meet Michael from Quality

The Quartz Corp really feels like family. The people here, we all pull together for a common goal and so that really to me makes a difference in the work environment and the way we perform together.

My name is Michael Higgins and I am the Quality Manager here in Spruce Pine North Carolina at The Quartz Corp. So being a Quality Manager I look at a lot of data that comes from all of our analysis from all our testing. I also handle our ISO Program ISO9001-2015, and I handle all our quality management system which is our document control system and our customer complaints, corrective actions, and performance handling those types of things.

We are a very environmentally conscious company. We live here in the mountains. The steams that run through our property that we actually use some of the water from are classified as mountain trout waters, so those waters are pristine in nature and everything we do is to leave the environment better than where we found it. 

A good career to me is one that you enjoy coming to everyday, it’s not a grind to come to that place of employment. You feel valued in the things you bring to that job and you are a part of something. You are not just punching a clock you are actually adding value for the company.
