The renewable energy industry, a significant business area for The Quartz Corp (TQC), is affected internationally by persistent losses which provide a challenging commercial framework.
This week we are implementing a series of difficult decisions necessary to evolve with the high purity quartz market conditions. We are stabilizing our operations including the indefinite closure of one quartz production facility located at Altapass Highway in Spruce Pine, NC, U.S. and reducing our workforce by 20-30 people as a result. Additional U.S. locations are not affected.
These decisions were not made lightly. They come after an extended analysis of how our market position and future customer commitments impact the long-term health of TQC. To continue delivering value to our customers and stakeholders, we must operate with greater efficiency and operational 2026 strategy.
